These are Commercial style Ball Valve Blowdowns for all types of Locomotives, traction engines, stationary engines etc.
We have found after years of experience that people do not blow their steam engines down often enough or thoroughly enough. So Every engine that passes through our doors gets our new blowdown! It will preserve a boilers life considerably. The Valve is a 90 degree on/off ball valve that is rated for the heat and also steam pressure. The advantage of this is you get full bore pressure/steam when blowing down your engine, giving every opportunity possible for the sediment to exit! Also A great way of losing water when you have “forgot” to turn the pump off, an easy on/off.
Each valve is supplied with 2x Barrell Nipples, 1x Ball Valve, 1x 90 Degree elbow and 1x 1/2″ Hose tail(also aiding filling boilers with water) The parts are to be secured in individually and we would recommend a Hydraulic seal for securing either Loctite 542 or we use a brand called Zylock.
Available in 1/4 & 3/8 BSP.
